It never ceases to amaze us at the connections we get to make with people from all over the country. Susan and Robin live in South Carolina and reached out to us about shooting their elopement at a relative’s house in Southwick, as South Carolina was obviously still out of the question as they don’t have any marriage equality laws there still (GET WITH THE PROGRAM, PEOPLE.) We were thrilled, of course, not only because elopements are the best, but because one day we’ll all look back at this and wonder how it ever could have been illegal to marry the person you love, and these two so love each other.

The short and sweet ceremony was officiated by Susan’s uncle, and Susan’s two adorable children Sunshine and Sarah Moon (BEST NAMES EVER, RIGHT?) and cousin Jasmine were the flower girls. Susan wore the skirt her mother wore when she got married. We got to parade the pair around the gorgeous property afterward, while the family prepared an awesome meal for the couple inside, and it’s days like these and families like these that make us absolutely love our jobs. Love is love, and there was so much of it this day.
