Our job sucks, really. We have to travel all the time, and to places like New York City, for crying out loud. Talk about first world problems, right? Okay, so in all seriousness here, we loved every part of this shoot with Karen and David. When Karen first told us she wanted to have us come to them in NYC for their engagement shoot, Shana and I did our little happy dance we do when we get really excited about things. Things include new equipment, awesome locations, amazing clients, ridiculously gorgeous pictures, etc. It’s not a rare occurrence, but it’s not an every day sort of thing either. This shoot with Karen and David checked off most of those things all at once and so our happy dancing was extra geeky that day. Now that you know how geeky we are, back to Karen and David!

We followed these two around their favorite spots in the city, places like Central Park and the restaurant they had their first blind date on and the neighborhood David used to live in before the couple moved in together. It was so awesome getting to see the quieter parts of Manhattan, the places where people actually live and work and not the touristy Times Square madness that you see as an NYC outsider.

Oh, and did we mention how lucky we were to have gotten this done right before Sandy hit? Luckily Karen and David weathered the storm just fine, but they’re like 23 stories up and got to watch the whole thing from the very awesome view in their apartment. But talk about scary, right? I bet you can see buildings rocking around in that kind of weather, and all that water moving in!
