There is something so absolutely beautiful about blending two cultures at a wedding. I’ve said it before, but other cultures do weddings so much better than we do. Everyone gets involved, everyone dances, there’s love and laughter everywhere. Amanda and Hakan’s wedding was no different.

The pair got married on a wintery day in December at Mill One, and while it hadn’t quite snowed yet, it was absolutely freezing out. I know, I know, it’s winter out, of course it’s supposed to be freezing. But there is something so deceiving about cold weather without snow. But trust me, it was really cold out, which forced us to get creative and do the majority of our portraits indoors. Luckily for us, Mill One is the absolute best place to be when it comes to inside portraits. There is still so much untouched to the old warehouse parts of the place, and they’re always so willing to let us use whatever part of the property we want. Our past client and now dear friend, Hannah, helps coordinate there now, so she braved the pitch dark horror movie bits all by herself to turn on the lights in the abandoned parts. While it was a good deal warmer than outside, those parts of Mill One are not heated and so we all had to suck it up for the sake of awesome pictures.

The reception was a total blast, and was not without some traditional turkish dancing which had the whole mill shaking. The wintery, glittery details were gorgeous, and the LOVE balloons were an awesome touch, as there was plenty of that to go around. At the very end of the evening it magically started to flurry, and we rushed Amanda and Hakan outside for a couple of snowy photos, which made our entire day.
