This past weekend we got to hang out, drink beer, eat pizza, and all of it was called work. We know we have the best job on the planet, but days like this really remind us exactly why we do what we do. Taylor and Stu were in town from Philly, where they live, to visit Taylor’s family and to finally get their engagement session in. The two of them really just wanted to capture themselves in a totally natural state, and one of their all time favorite things to do is make pizza. We were on board immediately, for obvious reasons. We love when we get the chance to shoot a couple without having to direct or pose (not that we don’t love directing and posing too) and there was PIZZA AND BEER. But there really is something special about being there in the moment, watching them be completely real, and not staging anything. It’s much the same as when we shoot weddings.
Everything was shot at Taylor’s childhood home, and we love how that just personalized it even more. You can tell how well these two dance around each other so perfectly, both taking on their respected tasks and helping the other out when needed. We all ventured outside for what could only have been five minutes, as the wind was absolutely bitter that day. It wasn’t for nothing, luckily, and we got a few hysterical shots of when Taylor realized the hard packed snow wasn’t so hard packed. IT WAS DECEIVING, OKAY? One second you’re all “oh yay, I don’t sink in.” and the next minute you’re eating snow. It happens to the best of us, Taylor! At least this won’t be a problem during your wedding!
