Shana and I have a few weeks to kill before the start of our crazy fall wedding season (20 weddings in 4 months! eek!) and so we’ve been trying to cram as much creative time in as possible. We’ve been watching various retouching videos, and reading up on advanced photoshop techniques, and so yesterday we decided to play around with some of the knowledge we’d learned. I’m a self professed geek, and after marathons of Battlestar Galactica and The X Files on Netflix, I decided I really wanted to channel my inner Alien. This took nearly 6 hours to edit, so there’s no way I could even begin to make a tutorial for it (so much of it was trial and error as I edited) but at least Shana managed to snap some behind the scenes shots so you can get an idea of how the setup looked. I’m posting all the stock photos I used as well (all from deviantart’s stock section) so you can get a feel of how I built the scene up. I made the entire background in advance, in order to know where I wanted my light sources to fall (it makes all the difference) and voila…
I present my alien doppleganger, here to destroy your planet with my awesome orb controller thingy. Clearly I am not as creative at naming or describing our artwork as I am in creating it.
