Gah, this is totally what we live for. There is nothing more refreshing than a day we get to spend creating, so when our friend (another photographer, big surprise) asked us to take some portraits of her we knew it was going to be creative awesomeness. We got to dress her up in outfits we had withering away in our costume closet, just waiting for such a moment, and she was such a good sport through it all. These were taken about a month ago, when it was still quite cold and there was snow on the ground, and none of these outfits were conducive to shooting in cold weather, but you’d never ever know it. Kat could seriously be a model, she’s got such great camera presence and really cool features, and she can totally rock a retro look. We spent some time in our barn, lighting off smoke bombs, and then followed it up with some more smoke bombs in the woods down the street. We get carried away with smoke bombs sometimes, but they make for such drama! Then we took her in our basement for some rock and roll type portraits in dramatic lighting. All around we got exactly what we were hoping for, a chance to be creative and a really fantastic way to catch up with an old friend. We’re super happy and proud about these, enjoy the beauty!
