Yesterday we got to go to the. coolest. place. ever. Amy and Grace found this amazing sunflower farm in Griswold, CT. It was 2 hours from us, and in the middle of absolutely nowhereland Connecticut, but Shana and I could’ve cared less if it were 6 hours away, the place was just that amazing. When we got there the place was crazy packed, there were people everywhere, and loads of photographers as well doing family photos, engagements, or just taking pictures of the gorgeous sunflowers.
Now rewind a little bit, so I can tell you the backstory on Amy and Grace. Amy happens to be a super amazing photographer (go to her website and check out her gorgeous work) and she contacted us in May wanting to know what dates we had available this fall, because they wanted to schedule their entire wedding around our availability. My first thoughts were obviously “wow! how totally awesome!” and my second was “holy crap, talk about pressure.” But the moment we met these two all that pressure melted away. They are both so totally down to earth and they absolutely trust us with the whole ordeal. I give them credit for that, because I’m not so sure I could say the same thing, but I’m a massive control freak when it comes to someone photographing me. Go ahead and get all Freud on me, I know it has to do with my chunky teenage self image. Moving back to their engagement shoot!
So we traversed the place and found the locations we wanted and tried to stall for time a little before getting started to let the ungodly hot sun go down a little. None of this mattered, because Grace, like Shana, is a massive sweater. I don’t mean the type your Grandmother knits you for Christmas with reindeers and snowflakes, but the kind that soaks their shirts if it’s anywhere over 80 degrees. Amy and I laughed about this in the beginning, because we were dry and happy, but as the shoot progressed Karma came to pay us back in the form of boob sweat and sticky hair. No amount of sweat stopped these two, though. We hopped and climbed fences, trudged through knee deep itchy tick infested grass, nearly killed ourselves on a rock wall, all the while Amy did this BAREFOOT. But every single one of these pictures made it worth it. Shana and I can’t stop going “wow” when we look at these. We really hope they feel the same way.
So, Amy and Grace, here’s the moment of truth! Here’s to hoping you love them as much as us!
Oh, and the adorable detail shots are of these custom made bracelets and necklaces the two had made for each other. Go ahead and awww.

Shana got some behind the scenes shots also, which I thought to include so you can see me in action and the sweat I spoke of. Sorry, Grace =P
