First of all, we’d just like to say how happy we are that this shoot happened at all. Rob and Suzie were in touch with several local fire stations in our area to see if we’d be allowed to shoot these, and as Rob is a firefighter you’d think it would’ve been a breeze. Not so much. I won’t go naming names here, because we’re classy like that, but after setting the whole thing up weeks in advance with one fire department, the chief of said fire department called Rob the night before and gave some bogus excuse that things weren’t going to work out. Rob and Suzie scrambled and managed to get the OK from another department (it’ll be fairly easy to figure out which one it is in the pictures, but again, not going to name anyone here) and hilariously after the entire thing was said and done and donuts and laughs were had with the guys that were on duty and we were on our way to our second location, Rob put his voicemail on speakerphone where the chief of that department (who obviously hadn’t been clued in to the fact that Rob and Suzie had already gotten the OK and the shoot was already done and over with) had left a message saying it was some policy that they can’t allow for such photoshoots to happen.
Whoops. Sorry we’re not sorry.
Regardless of all of that, it was such a blast doing these. After the fire station shoot we headed out to our home for an outfit change, some beers, and in my case some ridiculous oreo cake pops that Suzie made for us (which may or may not have been totally devoured within 24 hours, entirely by me sans ONE that Shana managed to get) and then headed out to find some foliage. All around it was a fantastic time, and we loved laughing with these two and getting to know them both better.
