Can we just talk about how much we love when the weather is gorgeous and we get incredible, yummy, romantic sun flare-y light? After the dreary winter and what seemed like an endless amount of cloudy photoshoots, we were so ready for some sunshine again.

Kayse and Dave live right at the back of Ashley Reservoir, a place we’d heard lovely things about for ages but hadn’t had the opportunity to shoot at until they hired us. We luckily scheduled a rain makeup date with these two, as the day previous was a rainy dreary nightmare. After dousing ourselves in tons of bug spray we started the 10 minute hike down to the reservoir, and spent the rest of the evening walking along the road that winds around the reservoir catching tons of awesome light. It’s incredible how different the light and colors looked from one spot and moment to the next. We’d see a pocket of light in some trees, start shooting, and literally have to change locations the next minute because the light moves and changes so much at sunset. We had an awesome time with these two, they’re so laid back, and we all DIED when a lone runner ran past us and ripped the loudest fart and just continued on his way (there’s a corresponding black and white down below where Kayse and Dave are cracking up, this was the moment.)
