Ashley & Phil’s Englewood Florida Wedding

YOU GUYS. We are so completely over-the-moon about these two. I mentioned it in their engagement shoot blog post, but as a refresher Ashley and Phil are old high school friends of mine. We were all in theatre together, and Ashley’s childhood home was always a hang out spot for everyone in Troupe 257. We all spent some awesome nights gathered around the fire pit, playing chubby bunny and lifesize chess (nerd alert!) So when Ashley and Phil contacted us about shooting their wedding at the very same house I was ecstatic, and knew I’d be seeing a ton of old faces.

The weather the day of the wedding was pretty iffy, all week the forecast was calling for a ton of rain. But Mother Nature was incredibly kind and only spit on us a tiny bit, just before the ceremony. You know what though? It was entirely okay, because a FREAKING RAINBOW appeared out of the blue and Shana and I did a happy dance and ran around like chickens with our heads cut off (seriously, I’m pretty sure that’s exactly what it looked like.) The moody clouds the whole day made for an incredible backdrop as well, so we’re not complaining.

The ceremony and reception were both equally gorgeous, but the real stunner of the evening was the dance floor OVER THE POOL. Yes, you read that right. It was so totally awesome, even with 70 people on it making my anxiety go nuts. I may or may not have backed up against the screen enclosure one or two times to get off of it cause it was shaking so profusely, but it was totally worth some adrenal stress in the end, cause IT’S A DANCE FLOOR OVER A POOL, YA’LL.
