This past Sunday Shana and I were involved in one of the coolest projects ever. We met this wedding planner, Tanya, back in May at Northampton Pride. She contacted us soon after to tell us about this shoot she’d dreamed up in hopes of getting published on some of the big wedding blogs and she wanted to know if we’d like to photograph it. I think it’s a fairly simple understatement when I say that we were THRILLED. We love collaborating with other people in the business, and Tanya got together the absolute best team. We had so much fun, even if the rain put a damper on things a bit (the ceremony was originally supposed to be outdoors, but as the dresses were on loan we couldn’t go frolicking in the rain). It was no matter, because the inside of the location, the Dream Away Lodge, is absolutely indescribable.
I mean it when I say that it’s indescribable, but I’ll try and do it justice. It’s this hodge podgey eclectic loungey amazing restaurant, where they have live music every night they’re open and this amazing bar and it was once a BROTHEL. Daniel, the owner, was so very hospitable, making us lunch and hauling things about and he did all the flowers and the cake and his adorable dog Jack stole the show more than once. The models, Amber and Freya, had the absolute best chemistry of all time (you’d never know the two weren’t really madly in love, I’d say it’s even QUESTIONABLE) and they were such a hoot. Ryan, who supplied the dresses, did a fantastic job of being a stand in maid of honor and Liz and Jenursa absolutely rocked at making the girls look so very incredible. The whole thing was pure perfection and we owe it all to Tanya for putting the whole thing together. So we thank you, Tanya, and Daniel, Amber, Freya, Liz, Jenursa, and Ryan too! We couldn’t have done this without you!
